World Card Making Day
Have you heard of World Card Making Day? If not, don’t worry about it; I hadn’t heard of it either, until we were told about it at Stampin’ Up!(r)’s Convention this past summer. Anyway, it’s now designated as the first Saturday in October (October 6th, this year) – and it just happens to be on a day of my regularly-scheduled, monthly Stamp-a-Stack anyway! So to allow more stampers to join us, I have added a second session that day, giving stampers a total of 3 Stamp-a-Stack sessions to choose from that weekend – Friday evening, October 5 and then Saturday, the 6th, either morning or evening.
And another dimension I’d like to add to our World Card Making Day activities is a tally of how many cards my readers and stampin’ customers make that weekend. You’re invited to participate in this tally, whether you’re able to actually join us here at my Stamp-a-Stacks or not. Just drop me an email and tell me how many cards you made that weekend (Friday – Sunday, Oct. 5 – 7)…. and I’ll post your numbers to my website. Won’t it be fun to watch those numbers add up?!?
I hope many of you will be able to join us in person for a fun Stamp-a-Stack that weekend, but if that is impossible, I urge you to set aside some time at your own home or perhaps gathered with a group of your own friends, to pull out your stamps and whip up a handful of cards – to send to deserving friends, family, and loved ones!
Crafters’ Garage Sale hours for this weekend are….
Saturday, Sept. 15 (Langley) – 9 am – 1 pm
Sunday, Sept. 16 (Oak Harbor) – 9 am – 3 pm.
Email me for the addresses – or check out the garage sale ads in Wednesday’s papers (Sept 12). See you there!
New feature coming in my newsletters
Get ready for a new feature in my emailed newsletters – a featured card or project with step-by-step instructions and tips! The first one (September’s newsletter) will feature this sunflower card, which unfortunately did not scan the colors at all well. (The leaves really are green – Mellow Moss, actually – in real life…… not the goldish-brown as they appear in this scan.)
Anyway, I PROMISE that if you follow the colors as I will outline in my instructions, you’ll have a prettier card than the colors of this scan.
And then beginning next month, my newsletters will include a series of projects called "The 12 weeks of Christmas", where newsletter subscribers will receive a fun, festive project (photo and instructions included) every single week to help put you in the holiday spirit! But you’ve gotta subscribe to my newsletter…… so be sure to sign up right away if you haven’t already! Just click the link at the top, left-hand part of this page… and do it soon so you won’t miss any of the fun!
Garage Sale is “back on” for both weekend days!
Woo Hoo!! We have a venue for the Oak Harbor part of our Crafters Garage Sale! So Sunday is back *on*!!! (I know, I know, confusing, isn’t it?!?)
Anyway, email me and I’ll send you open hours and locations for both days – September 15 & 16. We’ll be on South Whidbey on Saturday, and in Oak Harbor on Sunday. Come grab yourself a bargain!
September Stamp-a-Stack Update
At this time the Friday evening session (Sept. 7) of Stamp-a-Stack is full, but I still have 3 openings for Saturday morning (Sept. 8). You may either sign up online at www.stamptherock.eventbrite.com , or contact me directly.
Crafters’ Garage Sale – Saturday, Sept. 15
Ok, many of you know we’ve been trying and trying and TRYING to coordinate a North Whidbey/South Whidbey weekend-long, multiple-demonstrator garage sale over the weekend of Sept. 15th & 16th. But unfortunately it’s just not looking like *that* part of the plan’s gonna fly. But I am going ahead with MY part anyway – on Saturday, Sept. 15th – right here at my house.
So mark your calendars! I’ve still got some 130 stamp sets, a couple of punches, quite a bit of ribbon, old-style ink pads, and some other misc. things to offer up before packing it all away and pulling my car back into the garage for the winter. Check back in as the date draws closer – for start time & other details….. and plan to bring your friends!
Hostess Appreciation Party 2007
Hostess Appreciation Party 2006/2007 |
(Excerpt of an article from my August 2007 newsletter.)
Here are the hostesses (along with a handful of my 1st-level downline demonstrators and me) who were able to attend my annual Hostess Appreciation Party & Auction on July 6th! (Attendance was down a bit this year as several had other social obligations due to the 7/07/07 weekend, unfortunately.) Anyway, this event is always one of the high points of my year – and I thank all of you again for supporting my business so I can *stay* in business!
*
You’ll notice that many of our ladies are wearing beads; that means they qualified as Olympic Circle hostesses, with workshops over $500 in sales. This year we didn’t have any Gold workshops ($1000 or more), but here are the hostesses who hosted Silver and Bronze workshops. (Not all are pictured.)
*
Silver Workshop (Silver Beads – $750 or more in total sales)
Bronze Workshop (Red beads – $500 or more in total sales)
Lastly, special honors went to the 3 hostesses with the top total workshop sales for the year. All 3 of these ladies placed in this category due to having had 2 workshops throughout the year (hint, hint), and each received a certificate and a little "something" extra:
Special thanks again to this fabulous and fun group of ladies; let’s do it again next year! |
