Holiday Glitz

Since I already had most of the ingredients of the Holiday Glitz card kit around here (the exception being the ribbon), I wanted to put a card together while using stamps other than the 4 suggested sets included in the promotion.  (Especially since i don’t happen to own them, lol.)  So here is the result:

Holidayglitz_copy While it’s hard for me to do something this simple in style, I think the added glitter really helped pump up the "glitz" factor.  So in spite of it "not being my style", I’m ok with how it turned out.  Newsletter subscribers, look for the specifics this week in your Stamp Class in your Mailbox – 12 weeks of Christmas.

Stamp-a-Stack sample

ThoroughlythankfulHere’s one of the Stamp-a-Stack cards we did today. The stamped images (all one stamp, btw) come from the set Thoroughly Thankful, and are stamped onto vellum, embossed, and colored from behind with markers and aqua painter.

20%-off Simply Sent kits – now thru Sunday noon

Don’t forget, in celebration of World Card Making Day this weekend, Stampin’ Up!® is making all 5 current Simply Sent kits available at 20% off – today through this Sunday – Oct. 8th.  (Kits are also shown in color beginning on page 12 of the Fall/Winter Collection 2007.)

If you’d like to order one (or more) at this discount (can’t you hear that little voice whispering "Christmas gifts", "Christmas gifts", "Christmas gifts"?!?), please be sure to contact me before noon on Sunday – so I will have time to get all orders submitted before the deadline.

Build-a-Brad is available to order!

Woo Hoo!  Stampin’ Up!® has just informed us that the Build-a-Brad, which has been on long-term B/O due to quality control issues, is now available for ordering!  We had the opportunity to work with these fun doo-dads at Convention this past summer, and I’ve been SO anxious to finally be able to get my hands on some more!  So if you, too, have been waiting (with whatever degree of patience you can muster), well, it’s TIME!  Check ’em out here and on page 189.

Stampin’ Up! has further advised us that it is possible you might find some grains of rice in the tins.  Apparently this rice is used in the finishing process for the metal brads, and although the manufacturer endeavors to remove it all, it is possible some may still remain caught – esp. in the prongs of the brads. So although it may be surprising to find rice in your brads, as long as we all know about it, it shouldn’t be cause for alarm.

Oh!  And if you’d like to see one of these brads in person, I have some on display on the boards I’ll have at the Uniquely Whidbey Business Expo in Coupeville Oct. 13 & 14.  Be sure and ask me to point them out to you when you stop by!

Saturday Morning (Oct. 6) Stamp-a-Stack is sold out

The Saturday morning, Oct. 6 Stamp-a-Stack is sold out (Woo Hoo!!!), but there is still plenty of availability at both of the evening sessions this weekend, Friday, Oct. 5, and Saturday, Oct. 6.  (Click here to register.)

Oh!  And I’ve been asked about registering for the December Stamp-a-Stack….. as to why there is no drop-down option for # of tickets.  That’s because the registration for these events opens 45 days in advance; so registration for the December SAS’s will open in mid-October.

It’s time to get movin’ on our Holiday Cards!

It’s time to be thinking about our holiday cards!  As many of you know I offer a Christmas Card Club every year – where I help members design their cards, and then keep ’em movin’ forward to completion before Thanksgiving.  Well, I can hardly *believe* it, but the first meeting of our 2007 series is TOMORROW!  Oh…my… gosh!!!

And Stampin’ Up!® is jumpin’ on the bandwagon, too, with their "Holiday Glitz" customer promotion, which begins today.  You can read all about it here…… but please know that this particular special is only available "while supplies last".  So I wouldn’t wait too long to get yours ordered, if you’re interested.

Snowmanchristmaspeekaboo_2 And get ready for the first in my series of "12 weeks of Christmas" stamp classes in your mailbox – coming soon to the inboxes of my newsletter subscribers.  This little clip is a hint, but if you want to see the entire thing, you’ll have to subscribe to my newsletter.  (The link is at the top, left-hand corner of this page.)

And finally, don’t forget my Stamp-a-Stacks (all 3 of ’em), this coming weekend as we celebrate "World Card Making Day" together!  (BTW, I still have room at each one of my 3 sessions – Fri. night, Sat. morning, and Sat. evening; click here to register.)  But whether or not you’ll be able to join us here face-to-face, please be sure to set aside some time this weekend to stamp up some cards for someone special, and then either email me or click "comments" on this posting to report your name, state, and how many cards you made from October 5 – 7!  And then watch for your name to appear over in the left-hand column here!

3 new features

3 new features you’ll notice here today (whew!):

  • Place an order any time (left-hand column; instructions for ordering)
  • Hostess Corner (right-hand column; Hostesses, download my Hostess Guide here)
  • Tally setup for this upcoming weekend’s World Card Making Day.  Please email me with how many cards you make from Friday – Sunday, Oct. 5 – 7), and I’ll post your name & number of cards here – left-hand column.

Stamp-a-Stack sample

Scan0007 This was one of the cards we did at my September Stamp-a-Stacks.  This is a very simple and quick, but fun, card to do.  The background is the Fall Flowers Designers Series Paper (one of my very favorite DSP’s, btw), trimmed to 4" x 5-1/4", and then cut the long ways at 1-3/8".  Then flip one or the other pieces over and Voila!….. Instant background!  Ink colors were taken from the Fall Flowers paper (Soft Sky & Groovy Guava), and 3 punches were used.

But I have to admit I just *might* be overdoing the Soft Sky recently.  Seems most everything I’ve done recently features that color!  Hmmmmm……  Guess that must mean I LIKE it!
