November Stamp-a-Stack card

Peaceful_wishes_blue_copy Here is one of the cards my stampers did at last weekend’s Stamp-a-Stack.  This card seemed to be a particular favorite, and since it’s unique in its simplicity, I think I’ll write it up for one of my future Stamp Class in your Mailbox projects so more stampers can enjoy it.  It would be reasonably easy to crank out a pile of them in an evening, and the trees come from a classic stamp set that most Stampin’ Up!® fans already have anyway (Lovely as a Tree).  The scan is kinda funky….. apparently one of those "difficult to scan" situations; but trust me, the finished card is much prettier (and sparklier) than the scan!

If you don’t already subscribe to my newsletter, be sure to sign up right away so you’ll receive the free instructions when I send ’em!  (The sign-up button is at the top, left of this page.)

See your Christmas Card on the web!

Would you like to see your hand-stamped Christmas card posted on the web?  Then be sure to send me your holiday card featuring Stampin’ Up!(r) products – and I’ll not only display it here at my classes and events, but also scan it and post it in a special album here on my website…… and then you can invite your friends to view it, too!  We had some fabulous cards shared this way last year, and I’m really looking forward to seeing your works of art again THIS year!

Remember that while I appreciate and will display ALL your hand-made cards at my classes, I can only scan and post (to my website) cards that feature Stampin’ Up!(r) products.

So don’t forget to add *me* to your Christmas card list!

It’s not too late: Holiday Mini Stamp Camp – “Designer Packaging”

You’ve still got a few more days to register for my Holiday Mini Stamp Camp.  I’m particularly excited to share my "Designer Packaging" ideas with you this year – and you’ll learn several different elements to add that designer touch to your holiday gift-giving!  (And of course you’ll go home with several completed packaging projects that will be the perfect presentation for a very special gift.)

Please be sure to sign up before the October 31 deadline arrives; there is still room at each of the 3 sessions I’m offering!  (Nov. 15, 16, & 17)

Another October Stamp-a-Stack card

Happy_holidays_w_treeHere’s a card that seemed to go over well at our October Stamp-a-Stacks.  And (drumroll, please….) it’s a rare, "Lynda Original"!  The 3 stamp sets used are (Stampin’ Up!®, of course) Jumbo Outline Alphabet, Happy Everything, and Holiday Tag Team.  And the card base is River Rock.

Thank goodness I had already uploaded this picture to my computer before everything fell apart last week.  This design would be very "do-able" for a pile-o-cards Christmas card project.  I think it would be very conducive to assembly-line construction.

If you’d like to do this card yourself, contact me to help you pick out your supplies.

Hey, where’s my Stamp Class in my Mailbox?!?

Well, you see it’s like this:  We live here in this awesome, beautiful place – with the tall trees and the sparkling blue water all around us – and the annual November winds.  And along with the November winds (which arrived a full month early this year), always come the power outages.  So we knew the winds were coming last Thursday, and I had my flashlights, lantern, and battery operated radio all set up and ready, and of course my computer system is always on a surge protector ….. but in spite of all that, something got zing’d and the computer and the printer quit talking to each other.

So it’s been a long, long week – working for day after day with tech support, and so far all we’ve managed to accomplish is knocking out the function of all my *remaining* peripherals, as well.  So the only way I can get data into or out of my computer these days is via the keyboard or the internet.  My hotshot wireless mouse just sits there like a lump of plastic, my external harddrive (which houses my backups & many of my business files – to be safe) taunts me with all of its precious files locked tight inside, and there’s no hope of using my DVD drive or the memory cards to upload pictures from my camera any time soon.  So – I guess you can classify me as significantly technically-challenged for the time being.

But I haven’t forgotten about the promised Stamp Classes in your Mailboxes…. and I’ve been cooking up a work-around idea (involving driving 9 miles up the road and loading my camera pictures onto my parents’ computer and emailing them back here to work on with my photo editting program). And since I’m lousy at proofreading documents from the screen, I’ll have to email the tutorial back up to Mom to print and proofread before I send it out to my newsletter subscribers.

But if you’re not already a subscriber to my newsletter, this delay is just giving you an additional opportunity to sign up in time to get my next free Stamp Class in your Mailbox!  Just click on the white envelope at the top, left corner of this page to get started!

Another October Stamp-a-Stack card

Catalogcard Here’s another card from last weekend’s Stamp-a-Stacks.  If you happen to have a feeling you’ve seen it somewhere before; I lifted it right out of the current catalog.  (Page 21, to be exact.)  You’ll notice a couple of minor modifications from the original, but they’re pretty minor.

I fell in love with this card the very first time I paged through my brand-new catalog back in July…. and knew right away it would find its way into one of my stampin’ events.  So last weekend it called out to me again, and my WCMD stampers got to make it!   Colors are Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue, and Wild Wasabi.  Aren’t they yummy?!?

No Tricks – Just Treats

Halloween_goodies For someone who’s so NOT a Halloween fan, I have really fallen in love with Stampin’ Up!®’s Creepy Crawly double-sided Designer Series Paper.  If you’ve been to my workshops or other events in the past couple of weeks, you’ve probably watched as this grouping of projects has grown, culminating last night with the wrapped Junior Mints box in the foreground.  Wouldn’t these make great little rememberances for co-workers or friends?

Holiday Mini Stamp Camp – “Designer Packaging”

Giftpileweb Registration is now open for next month’s "Designer Packaging" Mini Stamp Camp – Nov. 15 – 17.  Save a few bucks by registering by October 20th, or if that’s impossible, regular registration will continue through October 31st.  (But remember space is limited, so I would encourage you not to wait too long.)

Register online for this event or another by clicking here.

(Samples shown here are similar to the projects on tap…… but may not be exact.)

Guest Stamper: Michele Mattson

Michele_card_1_of_2 Michele emailed me pictures of some of the cards she made over the WCMD weekend, so I decided to share some of ’em here.  Some of her cards were copies of work she has seen elsewhere, and some work is original.  Today I’m posting one that I believe she said she copied….. although I don’t know from where.  (So I can’t give credit.)

This layout is so versatile, it would make a lovely holiday card simply by changing up the stamps – don’tcha think?

Thanks, Michele.

And if you’ve stamped, scrapped, or otherwise papercrafted something you’d like to share here (must be totally created with Stampin’ Up!® supplies, of course…. and ‘current’ product is appreciated), email me a scan or picture and you may see YOUR name in this spot someday!

Card tally is up to 286!

Don’t forget to report how many cards you made over the World Card Making Day weekend!  I am still accepting names & numbers to publish here.  You may either email me or click "comments" at the end of this post, and contact me that way.

Congratulations to all of you who participated in WCMD!
