My booth – Uniquely Whidbey Business Expo 2010

I wasn't initially intending to post pictures from the Uniquely Whidbey Biz Expo this past weekend, but since I've been asked…….

Here's a single shot of my booth.  Not really much point in posting close-ups 'cuz most things have already been shown here somewhere in some previous post.

Special thanks to Dad for figuring out a construction plan for the shelf-hanger in the left rear, and to Kevin and Michele and both of my parents for help with set-up and tear-down.  I certainly couldn't have done it myself within the time constraints we had!

Supplies I used at the Uniquely Whidbey Biz Expo 2010

Today I thought I'd post the supplies I'm using in that little Halloween favor I'm making at the Expo this weekend, along with a few basic tips - in case you'd like to recreate it yourself. I will not be posting a picture of the project in order to maintain its exclusivity for those who visit my booth…… but these tips, along with the sample I made for you, will help you recreate it for your own friends.

  • Old Olive cardstock 8-1/2 x 11 (100702) *
  • Basic Black cardstock 8-1/2 x 11 (121045) *
  • Pumpkin Pie cardstock 8-1/2 x 11 (105117) *
  • Whisper White cardstock 8-1/2 x 11 (100730) *
  • Basic Black Classic Stampin' pad (101179) **
  • Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine (113439)
  • Two Tags Die (115954)
  • Paper Cutter (104152)
  • Scoring Blade from Cutting & Scoring Blades refill (104154)
  • Punch – 1-3/4" Scallop Circle (119854)
  • Punch – 1-3/8" Circle (119860)
  • Punch – 1-1/4" Circle (119861)
  • Dark & Dreary Stamp Set (120837 – Wood Mount, or 121151 – Clear Mount)
  • SNAIL adhesive (104332)
  • Note: If you choose Clear Mount stamps you'll also need Blocks A (118487) and B (117147)

In addition to these products from Stampin' Up!®, I also used a stapler and small Tootsie Roll candy.

Tips:

Your 2 score lines are 1-1/2" and 2" from the bottom of your die-cut tag. Study the detail trim around the edge of the tag to determine the "right" side of your tag; fold on your score lines so that the "right" side will be the outside. Staple your black scallop circle on the back side (inside) of your tag - placing the smooth side of the staple on the "right" side (outside) of the tag – near the top (scallop) edge.

Apply SNAIL adhesive to Pumpkin Pie circle; adhere to black scallop (covering sharp edges of staple).  Stamp raven onto Whisper White cardstock, let dry, then punch out with 1-1/4" circle punch. Apply SNAIL adhesive to back of raven, then mount to Pumpkin Pie circle.  Turn entire piece stamped-side-down onto scrap paper & rub from behind to adhere well. Apply SNAIL between fold lines; adhere Tootsie roll.

* Optionally, these cardstocks are all found in the "Getting Started" cardstock collection (120954)

** This color is also found in the "Getting Started" Classic Stampin' Spots (1"-square) collection (119979)

If you'd like to purchase any of these items, please contact me directly at my email address, or phone number at the top of this page, or you may place your order online at my demonstrator website:  http://StamptheRock.StampinUp.net (then click the SHOP NOW button).

And thank you to those who came by my booth!

Come visit me at the Uniquely Whidbey Biz Expo this weekend!

I hope you'll come see me at the Uniquely Whidbey Business Expo this Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 9 & 10 in Coupeville, WA!  This is Whidbey's premiere showcase of local businesses, and a popular event for the whole family!

I believe this will make an even dozen years I've been at this event - most of 'em in the very same booth location so you can find me easily!

And that's where you'll find me again THIS year, too……… in the "B" gym - booth 66 – first booth past the corner one.  Please come say "hi" – and reintroduce yourself if it's been a while!

Important reminder/tip about online ordering

There's been an AMAZING response to Stampin' Up!'s Clearance Rack Blitz, announced on Tuesday!  Thank you to all of you who've been participating!

I wanted to pass along a little (but really important) reminder/tip about placing your online orders through me, though.  While it might be handy to bookmark an address for ordering online with me, it is vitally important that you bookmark the PROPER address.  And that address is:  http://StamptheRock.StampinUp.net

This address will take you to the home page of my demonstrator website…… and from there you must physically click the SHOP NOW button (or at least choose a SHOP NOW option somewhere on that page) in order to begin your shopping.  Whether or not these specific steps are done correctly will affect the prices you are presented all the way through the process - from the individual product prices (you'll get the lowest possible prices if done correctly), to the shipping/handling prices (again, lowest possible, if done right), and even to whether or not you are presented the opportunity to earn Stampin' Rewards (basically the same thing as Hostess Benefits) on your $150 order.  (Again, you'll qualify IF you've entered the system correctly in the first place.)  So it's definitely to your benefit to do each step in proper sequence.

So to review:

DO:  Enter (either through bookmark or by a link or by typing in the URL) here:  http://StamptheRock.StampinUp.net .  THEN click the "SHOP NOW" button and verify that my name (Lynda Glassmoyer) appears on the screen as your demonstrator.  (If it does not, stop and do not go any farther – and then contact me directly.)

DON'T:  Set up a bookmark to skip over my home page and jump somewhere directly into the online store.  Skipping over the home page can result in your paying more than necessary for your order, and/or not qualifying for Stampin' Rewards (aka Hostess Benefits) at all, and/or the order not getting credited to me properly.

Thanks for keeping this somewhat petty-sounding, but important point in mind as you take advantage of the current Clearance Rack Blitz and place your online orders in the future!  I know it seems silly, but the system's only programmed to work one way – IT'S way, lol!

Studio Sketches

P8090004

I made this card for a monthly swap with my downline group a few months ago, but I don't think I ever got around to sharing it here.  (And if I'm wrong, please don't remind me; I seem to be having enough challenges remembering things these days, lol!)

I believe this was the first chance I had had to work with the brand-new-at-the-time luscious new color, Cherry Cobbler….. and the supporting colors include River Rock and Always Artichoke.

I chose En Francais for my background stamp, and the focal point is actually 2 images from the Studio Sketches stamp set. I masked the foreground image (the bowl of apples) while stamping the second image behind it (the fruits on the table surface).  I can't begin to remember all the colors I watercolored with (I know there were a lot!), but it's likely I used a blender pen to apply 'em.

I guess the learning experience here is that I oughtta post things while they're still fresh in my mind – before the memory fades, huh? Yeah, right.  <<wink>>

Clearance Rack Blitz begins today!

Hot off the press this morning!

Roughly 200 new (er, "retired", rather) items are being added to Stampin' Up!'s Clearance Rack - beginning today and running through October 18th to make room in the warehouse!  Some are being listed at up to 80% off their original prices!  But supplies are limited; when they're gone, they're gone – so you'll want to get in early. "CB" already did, and she scored BIG TIME this morning!

Clearance Rack merchandise is only available online (I cannot order these things for you), so click here for my online store, and claim your share of the savings!

A stamp-filled weekend!

Had 3 great groups of stampers over for my Stamp-a-Stacks this past weekend!  What amazing ladies, and what fun!!!  Thank you, all!!!

Will share some of the cards we made – later……. but for the time being, here's what I've been working on for our Stampin' for the Troops project this past weekend, too - in conjunction with World Card Making Day.  Still have a handful more to finish; then need to get them out the door and on their way!

The color did not reproduce well in the picture; the cardstock and ink actually DO go together…… although you wouldn't know it from the picture, lol.  Don't know why that happens sometimes, but I figure I could spend ALL DAY trying to "fix" it, or just let it go and get it posted.  You can tell which route I chose……

Hot news in the MDS (My Digital Studio) world!

Just announced earlier today…….

…… the launch of www.MyDigitalStudio.net – a place for MDS fans to gather, discuss digital crafting stuff and share their MDS art and ideas!  Whether you're already a raving fan – or just simply curious about what My Digital Studio is all about – jump on over there, get signed up and take a look around!  Last time I checked, there were almost 300 samples uploaded already…… only a few hours past launch!

Oh, and you'll find all kinds of other MDS resources there, too.  Like info about keeping your MDS up-to-date, and all about digital downloads and Stampin' Up!® printing services.

And if you haven't yet sprung for your OWN copy of MDS, why not just go ahead and get it in time for the holidays?  Come to think of it, why not *give* MDS for Christmas this year?  It's easy to order at my online store:  http://StamptheRock.StampinUp.net (Then look for the SHOP NOW button to get started).  And you can get additional digital downloads at my online store, too.  For as little as $.95, even – and of course there's not even any shipping because you just download it to your computer as soon as your order is complete!

And stay tuned for more MDS news, too - as soon as I make it through my Stamp-a-Stacks and Stamping for the Troops sessions this weekend.
