What is Direct Selling?

Found this great video this morning and thought I'd share.  It's generic about the direct selling industry as a whole, but when it gets to the "passion" and "fun" parts I think you'll see why I've chosen STAMPIN' UP!® as MY company to represent.

BTW, if you 're reading this from a feed and can't see the embedded video, click over to the actual post:

Click here for more info about becoming a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator.

Oh, and don't forget the FREE BIG SHOT die-cutting machine (or $100-worth of catalog product)  you'll get as a bonus for signing up during October 2011!

New My Digital Studio limited-edition hostess option

Check out this video featuring the brand-new My Digital Studio "Savor the Season" limited-edition hostess option – now through the end of December.  Looks like a ton of fun, and I'm all over the punches for use far beyond the holiday season!  I will definitely be getting THIS collection; contact me to schedule YOUR party so you can get yours, too!

Did you know you can register online for my monthly classes?

Yep!  You can.  And it's really, really easy, too.  Probably takes less than a minute.  Here's how:

Start by visiting my website.  You DO remember the name of my website, right? Ok, here's a reminder:

www.StamptheRock.com

Then look just under the banner for a bunch of links (currently showing in pink or red, but colors are always subject to change with my whim, of course).  Locate and click this one:

Image -sign up for a class

Now you'll see all my upcoming regular classes that are available to register for, so just click on the one you've got in mind.  (Be sure to choose the one with the correct class title & date, of course.) As you make your selection you'll be asked for a password, but don't panic….. I've made it real easy for you 'cuz it's just the word:

Stamp

(And I don't even think it matters whether you capitalize it, although the system would probably want it spelled correctly, lol.)

So from there you'll look for a session that still shows a "Sign Up" button attached- and after you input your name & email address you'll be able to see your name added to the attendance list for that session – and you're done!  Easy-peasy!

And if ever you need to confirm which session you're signed up for you can go view the attendance list again through that exact same link under my website banner.

Now if a session already has 6 names showing and does not show a "Sign Up" button, it means that session is already pretty full and I recommend you look for another session to join.

But if you simply cannot attend another session, please feel free to contact me and plead your case.  If it's still far enough in advance that I can shuffle tables and chairs and ensure enough supplies on hand, I might still be able to accomodate you – or at least put you on a wait list in case someone else has to cancel.

So come join us for one of our 3 monthly sessions of Card Class – and/or my 2 monthly sessions of Crafting Adventures

Free Big Shot!!! And more….

What an AMAZING adventure it was to log onto the Stampin' Up!® demonstrator website this morning and read all about what October has in store for their fans!

Buy-2-Simply-Sent-kits-get- I'd already known about some of the news in advance and have been previewing a couple things at my workshops and classes recently (like October's "Buy 2 Simply Sent kits and get one of the coordinating stamp sets for free" customer special)…….Sweet-Press-Cookie-Stamps

and today's debut of the anxiously-awaited Sweet Pressed Cookie Stamps. Download the Cookie Stamps PDF flyer here.  Your stamps will include instructions and even a couple of recipes that have been tested and work well.  You can order your cookie stamps at my online store – or with a regular order at any time.

Enewsletter_US_OCT2011_04But by far the news that I know is going to generate the BIGGEST buzz this month is the FREE BIG SHOT offer!  Yes, you read that right! Get a FREE BIG SHOT (or up to $100 of dies for free, if you already own a Big Shot) when you join my Sea to Sea Stampers team in October! And what could possibly be a better time of year to join us, than right when we're gearing up for the holidays anyway?!

And the good news this morning just seems to roll on and on…..

Beginning on Monday, Oct. 3 (and just in time for your Christmas cards) you'll be able to get bulk pricing on our professional print services for your MDS-designed cards, tags and swatchbooks, so duplicates of your holiday cards will cost you even less this year!  See the new bulk-pricing sheet here.

And *also* beginning on Monday (Oct. 3) and running only through the end of the year we'll be offering an extra-special, limited-edition hostess-only item: An MDS Content CD featuring a gazillion (translation: "many, many, many") fun elements for your My Digital Studio software including: 36 stamp brush images, 10 Designers Series Papers, 8 embellishments, 4 punches, 3 designer card templates, and 20 decor template pages which you can use to make paper gift bows, banners, mini boxes, treat labels & more.

(And somehow I feel like I'm supposed to conclude this lengthy list with the words, "and a PARtridge in a pear tree"…. although the flyer doesn't actually say that, lol.)  Anyway, as a Stampin' Up! hostess during the upcoming holiday season you'll be able to choose this fun & generous Savor the Season content CD ($26.95 value) for only $16 hostess dollars!

Download the flyer that shows some of what you can make with the Savor the Season Ensemble Content CD here.

And that's not ALL the announcements we found awaiting us this morning.  There was plenty of other fun stuff specifically of interest to demonstrators, too.  But there's no need to post that here; if you decide to join our demonstrator family (and claim your $100-worth of FREE BIG SHOT stuff), then you'll be able to read all about the other cool news of the day yourself!   🙂

Scrapbook page element

Oh my gosh!  Has it REALLY been a full month since I've posted here?!?  Well, yup, it sure looks like it. Yikes!  Apparently I've stayed plenty busy with other activities; September HAS been a good month!  (Many thanks to all of you who have had a part in that, btw.)

So over the weekend I co-hosted our 2nd Scrap Camp. And immersing myself in preparing for the event renewed my enthusiasm to get back to work on that (shhhh!) now-5-year-overdue wedding album….. so I dragged it out again and got a few more pages accomplished.  It really IS fun to work on, but I'm such a SLOOOW scrapper!  Anyway, one of the pages I finished included this one – and I thought I'd share how I did the swirls up both sides.

Stitched-waterfall-600

I really had a vision of something "tone on tone" so as to have a little something in those boring blank areas, but I definitely didn't want something that would distract from the photo.  So this is how it turned out.  This is a right-hand page; the facing page also has these same swirls that echo the design element, too.

The process was actually very simple.  I started by die-cutting the swirl with the (sadly) now-retired "Swirly" Sizzlits Decorative Strip Die – from Basic Black cardstock.  Then I tapped a Versamark pad all over the swirl, then dumped on clear embossing powder and heat embossed it.  Then attached with 2-way glue pen, and that's IT!  I got exactly the tone-on-tone, glossy vs. matte look I was after!  Kewl!

And another big-deal accomplishment to report today; this morning I figured out how to "stitch" photos (er, "scans", actually) together in Photoshop Elements to accomplish creating this photo to post in the first place!  Yippee!!

Pictures from our Island County Fair booth

Ok!  I think the last pictures I posted about our booth at the Island County Fair kinda looked like underwear, right?  Something like this:

and this……

P8150003

But it's about time to showcase the FUN stuff, don'tcha think?

So here's what I've got for ya today….

First, an overview of the whole space:

P8180027

And then……

P8260099

This was the logo I'd designed with "My Digital Studio" (Stampin' Up!'s digital design program) and we used in various forms throughout our displays.  Man, oh, man, it took me HOURS of digital manipulation to create the basic of this, but I had a ton of fun with it and thankfully My Digital Studio was up to the task!

There's a version of it on the colorful banners that hung above us, and we had it on our name tags, and also a piece of it on the labels we placed on the backs of our give-away favors.  (More about those favors in a moment.)

P8260102

And well, ok, here's what we were making on site and handing out to those who would stop to talk to us.

The Fair's theme this year was "See EWE there – at the Island County Fair".  And after absolutely knocking ourselves out *last* year and decorating our entire booth with their theme, only to receive no recognition at all for it, this year we decided to scale it back, focus mainly on Stampin' Up!® instead, and just give a single "nod" to the theme:

P8260093

P8190067

And they turned out pretty cute, if I do say so myself!

More coming later in future posts, but in the meantime if you visited our booth or got one of our favors, I'd really love it if you would leave a comment with your thoughts!  And out of curiousity, also let me know if your favor still has its candy inside, lol!

Just click the "comment" link below and type up a little message.  Unfortunately because of the proliferation of automated spamming comments these days, I've had to set my comment system to "moderate", but as soon as I review your comment I'll authorize it for posting.  Thanks very much in advance!

When your Stampin’ Up! wish list is BIG, but your budget is…… well, a budget!

Today I'm gonna share with you the new version of "Club" I rolled out recently. Actually, I'm not really calling it "Club" anymore, but rather a "Purchase Power" plan.  But if you want to call it Club 2.0, I guess I can understand why.

At any rate it's specifically for Stampin' Up! fans who have BIG wishlists, but perhaps more limited budgets.  (I guess that would cover about 99% of us, wouldn't it?)

And I've retained the features that everyone loves about "Clubs", and added a bunch more benefits for greater flexibility and options for your convenience, too.

So while I could type and type and type all day right here, I'm not gonna, 'cuz I already typed it all up once!  But if you find yourself as one of those who love Stampin' Up!, and have a BIG wishlist, but a much more modest budget, then I encourage you to download this PDF document and read all about how you can get free products (hostess benefits), and free make & take classes while having fun and treating your budget kindly too!

Download Purchase Power Plan

Then if you hurry, you can get signed up (just call or email) and start chipping away at that wishlist, and get next week's Card Class ($15 value) for FREE!

It’s FAIR time!

Hello Island County!!!

Just checkin' in here with a quick update.  You may have noticed my relative silence recently; that's because I've been spending every waking moment of the past several weeks laser-focused on getting our booth ready to open on time this morning. (And we "almost" made it, lol!)

Are you excited for the Fair?!?  Or are you just dragging yourself and the kids HOME from there with tired and aching feet?  Either way, I sure hope we either had a chance to chat – or will soon!

If you HAVEN'T already been there, I wanted to let you know I'll be in our booth every day from mid-afternoon through closing, and all day on Sunday.  Yep, that's over half the hours the Fair is open!  You can find us in our usual place in the Turner Building; just look UP above the tops of the booths for the familiar Stampin' Up! logo!

This is what our booth looked like Monday morning (the photo is actually of our next-door-neighbor booth, but ours looked exactly the same); come see how Michele and I've transformed the place this week!  🙂

And a couple other things you might like to know…..

If you have picked up a 2-for-1 coupon, you can read more about my Card Classes here.

And if you've been wanting to view that My Digital Studio Overview video again, we'll be streaming it from time to time throughout the run of the Fair.  You can catch that at:

http://www.gvolive.com/conference,stamptherock

Just sign in with your full name (and leave the password area blank), and then you may have to wait several minutes for the video to start.  (Unfortunately it will probably begin wherever the master video is running, rather than from the beginning, but technology is not yet totally perfect, lol.)

If, after several minutes, the video does not begin, then go ahead and sign out and try again later.  The PLAN is to have it looping throughout the weekend, but of course technological gremlins may do their best to interfer with that……

Added Sunday morning:

THANK YOU to all of you coming to meet me this weekend!  I've met so many fun, enthusiastic crafters and crafter-wannabees this weekend, and look forward to working with you in the future!

If you haven't yet had a chance to drop in, today is the final day at the fair.  I'll be doing my drawing on Monday – from everyone who has given me their email & phone info since Thursday.

So that means if you've filled out a form to join my email list, you're IN.

If you join my list before the end of today (just click on the green button at the top of the next column to the right) – you're IN.

Or if you email me with your info before the end of today – you're IN, too!!!

And if had asked about My Digital Studio, please be sure to watch that video at the link above.  Today is the final day I'll be streaming it online.

Now scroll down for my other recent posts, and…….

I'll see you at the FAIR!!!!
