February’s desktop wallpaper with calendar is ready to download

2018 - 2 - February - tinified

Don't know about you, but by the time we finish wading through January I'm totally ready to rest my eyeballs on some soft, sweet flowers. Of course February is the month of pink (well, being a "lover-of-most-things-pink", that's *my* rule anyway), so here ya go!

My monthly desktop wallpaper background not only offers you a pretty seasonal picture to brighten your computer monitor, but also includes a handy monthly calendar and serves as a cheat sheet reference to websites you may want to know about and visit.  And it's even FREE to download and install, so please don't hesitate to share this page with your friends and family.

You'll probably want to consult your own computer operating system's installation instructions, but installing the background image on my Windows 10 system takes just 3 quick steps – and  less than a minute. It's super-duper easy-peasy!
  1. I download and save the image to my computer - from the link just above that starts with "Click HERE". (NOT from the picture that appears at the top of this post!)  TIP:  To "download" the full-resolution image once it's open (from Google Drive where it's stored), I click on the downward-pointing arrow. THAT is what actually begins the download process to my computer.
  2. Once the file has been downloaded, named and saved to my computer's hard drive, I open it.
  3. Then I right-click on the image and select "Set as" > "Set as Background"….. then right-click again and select "Set as" > "Set as Lock screen". And poof! That's all there is to it! (For convenience, I install this on both my desktop system as well as my laptop.)
And in case you may have an operating system OTHER than Windows 10, these tips may help with installation:
  1. Windows 10, 8.1 or 7: http://www.digitalcitizen.life/how-customize-desktop-background-windows
  2. Apple Mac: http://www.wikihow.com/Change-the-Desktop-Background-on-an-Apple-Macintosh-Computer

Finally, please keep in mind that the format of my monthly picture is designed for most modern-day 16:9 monitors (common format for monitors and HD TV's since about 2009), oriented in landscape format. (1920 x 1080 pixels.) If you're working with an older monitor (one that is more square-ish in format), or your monitor is set up in portrait format, the picture will probably not work for you. Sorry 'bout that.

Cardinals and winter. In my mind they just kinda go together. Probably because my grandmother was a devoted bird-lover in Michigan. I remember always being so delighted when one of these vibrant red beauties would land on her feeder, presenting such a welcome contrast to the often dull winter sky.

December’s desktop wallpaper with calendar is ready to download

2017 - 12 - December - tinified
Are you feeling blue as we enter the Christmas season? I sure am. But certainly not "blue" as in sad, but rather in the context of the cool, bright light of a sunny winter's day, while comfy-cozy and protected from its chill. I wish you and yours a very warm and happy holiday season!

Select stamps available at 20%-off, beginning at midnight tonight (Mountain Time), and running until Midnight Monday night (Mountain Time). Check my online store to see what's included. Part 3:

Online Extravaganza 2017 wraps up on Monday, Nov. 27th with a Flash Sale, but at this time details are still being kept a surprise! Even we demonstrators don't know what to look forward to, so I guess I'll just say "STAY TUNED!"

And thank you for using a Host Code when you order online:

Also, unless your order totals $150 or more in products, I do appreciate when you apply my current host/ordering code to your order. The current code changes from time to time, but is always available here at my website. (See the "Current Host Code" link at the top of every page.) If you are unfamiliar with what this code is about, you'll find an in-depth explanation at the "Current Host Code" link. I believe that as you view your cart (but before you move on to the check-out process), you'll see an opportunity to enter a Host Code. Unless I've broadcast a different one for some reason (which would be VERY rare), please apply the one that you'll find at my website (which is where you probably are right now……… at www.YourPaperDreams.com). Hugs & thanks!

Stampar – WHAT?!?

11.16.17_GIF_STAMPARATUS

STAM•PA•RAT•US: Noun. 2017-2018 (and beyond); < rubber-stamper lingo; Latin stamp + apparatus>  1. a feature-packed device to assist rubber stampers with placing stamped images exactly where desired  2. a gizmo used to perfectly align up to 4 stamped images  3. a doo-dad which allows another attempt at stamping a fully-inked image if the first was unsuccessful  4. an amazing tool that all rubber stampers will want to own in order to make their stamping adventures more fun, easy, and oops-free. Synonym: "the most advanced stamp-positioner on the market"

Well, we've waited a whole lotta years, but it's finally (almost) here! Stampin' Up!'s feature-packed stamp positioner that blows all other similar devices currently on the market right out of the water! Why? Because once again, Stampin' Up! has created a tool designed FOR stampers BY stampers (LOTS of 'em, actually!)

So what's up with this gizmo with the funky name?

Well, I recommend downloading this PDF flyer for a quick overview…….

Stamparatus_flyer_image

and then checking out this video to see the Stamparatus in action:

Soooooo…… now that you have an idea what this little gem can do, we'll assume that by now you know you need one of these puppies for your very own self. (I mean, who wouldn't? Right?) So listen-up while I share how to be among the very first to get your mitts on one of these coveted treasures….. (Yeah, yeah, it's a little bit complex, but I think we can all catch on eventually…)

Stampin' Up! recognizes that this is expected to be a hot, hot item, but wants at the same time to avoid the disappointment of a potentially protracted back-order situation, as these Stamparatuses [Stamparati?] can only be manufactured and stocked at a finite pace. Therefore, Stampin' Up! has designed a clever "reservation" system that will allow you to (sort of) preorder yours before it is even manufactured. There will be 3 limited preorder/reservation periods between now and when this tool appears in next summer's Annual Catalog, and you may order up to one device during each of the 3 periods – while supplies last. The limited preorder periods will run during the following dates, but only until the maximum number of available reservations has been reached. (In other words, those who preorder early in the period stand a better chance of successfully reserving a unit than those who wait until later).

Preorder dates

As you see, the first reservation window opens this coming Thursday, Nov. 16th. At 2:00 pm, Mountain Time, to be exact. (Barring any hiccups like crashed websites and other technicalities, of course.)

To place your reservation you'll go to my online store and  look for the "Reserve" link on the Stamparatus page. (You must already have an online customer account set up in order to proceed; if you don't already have an online account, I urge you to go ahead and set one up now to be ready.) Then follow the simple instructions shown in this tutorial. Note that you must have a credit card available in order to place your reservation, but you won't actually be charged until your Stamparatus comes in.

Then when the approximate shipping date nears (better put it on your 2018 calendar right away so you don't forget), be sure to keep an eagle-eye on your email inbox (including your junk box, too), as Stampin' Up! will notify you when your Stamparatus has been placed into your shopping cart. And at that point you'll go into your order, add more items to your cart if you wish, and then submit your order. Be very careful not to accidentally delete your Stamparatus from your cart because there will be NO way to add it back again

So be ready to act quickly on Thursday to be among the very first lucky owners of a Stamparatus! I'd be VERY surprised if available reservations last until November 30th…. or even anywhere close to it!

Please note that the "sale" of this item will not actually take place until you close out and submit your order next February (or March or April, depending on which reservation period you used). Your "reservation" will NOT count as a sale, and as I understand things currently, I won't even be able to see that you've reserved one. (But you might wanna tell me anyway…..)

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Ok, so yeah, that was a whole lotta words, so here's the Cliff Notes version:

  1. Recognize you want need a Stamparatus.
  2. Make sure you have an online shopping account already set up so you don't have to fiddle with it on Thursday. (You probably do have if you've shopped online with me before, but no harm in double-checking: store.YourPaperDreams.com)
  3. Set an alarm to reserve your Stamparatus (store.YourPaperDreams.com) at 2 pm (Mountain Time) this Thursday, Nov. 16. (Or as soon thereafter as you can, being aware there are a limited number of reservations that will be accepted.) You'll need to provide a CC number at the time, although it won't be charged at the time of reservation. (BTW, if the system crashes due to high use, please don't give up; just continue to try again a few times every 10-15 minutes or so.)
  4. Mark your calendar to keep an eagle-eye out for an email from Stampin' Up! (approx. Feb. 1), that lets you know your Stamparatus has been added to your shopping cart.
  5. When you receive that email from Stampin' Up! go into my online store again (store.YourPaperDreams.com) and complete/submit your order. (Remember THAT is the point that you actually purchase your Stamparatus.)

November’s desktop wallpaper with calendar is ready to download

November 1st. The day after October 31st and Halloween. Why is it that every single year I'm suddenly caught off guard with the realization that NEXT MONTH is Christmas and then next year is NEXT YEAR!

Happy Halloween!

20171031_133718[1]
Today I'm excited to share the artwork of a sweet stampin' friend, Jane Downs. She showed up to card class last week with a basket of The. Most. Adorable little Halloween treats…. same size as this one, but each a different color and character…. totally appropriate for the trick or treating occasion!  She offered each of us the opportunity to pick one, and although the choice was really hard (they were ALL just so stinkin' cute!), I finally selected Garfield. Jane's little boxes were filled with candy (of course), and although not made with Stampin' Up!'s retired "Curvy Box" die, they were the same shape and style of the die, just a little bit larger. (Apparently she's got some fancy crafting gadget that makes that kind of thing easy.) At any rate, we were all charmed – both by the delightful designs, as well as her thoughtfulness! Thanks for such a sweet surprise, Jane!

Seasonal Chums - Pumpkin
Next, I just had to stick this in here before the holiday got away and it would be too late to show it off. This was my very first attempt at using our brand-new, "available TOMORROW" Stampin' Blends alcohol markers earlier this month, and this happy pumpkin just makes me grin every time I look at him! He's part of the "Seasonal Chums" bundle, which includes the Jack-o-lantern, a snowman and an adorable little reindeer. These charming little characters have both their front and back images on each stamp, and then the corresponding dies cut the entire piece out at once, so all you have to do then is fold it in the middle for a clever little tag. (Hey, the die even punches the hole thru which you can string your twine!) So for this one, I stamped the image in Tuxedo Black Memento ink, and then used Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive Stampin' Blends to color it in. Each color comes in both light and dark markers so they'll blend beautifully.

Now, one of the features of alcohol markers is that they bleed through your paper, so I did have to cut a 2nd piece of white cardstock with the same die and use it as a liner so the inside of the tag is clean and white…… but that was no big deal.

Can't wait to share some of the other fun I've been having with my new markers, and I'm sure you're gonna want your own set soon, too!

Not too late to get October’s Paper Pumpkin shaker cards kit!

Paper_Pumpkin_2017_Oct

October's Paper Pumpkin kit arrived last week, and I put mine together while dog-sitting for my grand-dogs over the weekend. While it's been common knowledge that the October and November kits would coordinate this year, it's always a surprise to see what exactly is in each. And this month's kit certainly did not disappoint! Not only were there supplies to make 10 (that's 10, not 8, but TEN) shaker cards, but as usual with the Paper Pumpkin kits, I still have extra supplies, a stamp set and an ink spot left over to use on future projects.

But here's a really cool part. THIS month, instead of selling kit refills in the online store, Stampin' Up! will be offering these kits in their entirety (meaning including stamps + ink), BUT only while supplies last. (Which I would be very surprised to be very long.) But here's the rub:

Paper Pumpkin kits and/or refills available in the store are only available for purchase by Paper Pumpkin subscribers.

Uh, oh! Not a subscriber yet? (Or *still*, or whatever….?) Well, that's simple enough to fix: simply go to PaperPumpkin.YourPaperDreams.com and get signed up. Now! Quickly! So that you'll be ready to jump in right away and get your October kit just as soon as it becomes available….. about 1 pm or so (Pacific time) this afternoon. It'll show up in the Paper Pumpkin section of my store (but only while supplies last, remember).

And then the next piece of good news is that by being a subscriber, you'll automatically get the coordinating November kit in your mailbox, too!

So here's the quick and dirty review about how to get your October kit:

  1. Subscribe to Paper Pumpkin here – right now. (You might want to consider setting your monthly kit order to a number larger than 1 – at least at this time of year so you can have plenty of these projects on hand.)
  2. Sign OUT of your Paper Pumpkin account. (Don't just "x" out; you'll need to actually log out so you'll be able to sign into the online store soon thereafter.)
  3. Go here to order as many kits as you want from my online store (beginning at 1 pm Pacific time, but only while supplies last). And I'd be appreciative if you would apply my current host code, found here on my YourPaperDreams.com website.
  4. Enjoy putting together your 10 shaker cards when your order arrives, and then look forward to your NEXT (coordinating) kit to arrive automatically around mid-November. We don't know yet what the project will be, but we do know it'll coordinate with these cards, altho it won't be cards. Perhaps treat boxes? Packaging/wrapping of some kind? Tags? All of the above? Who knows?!?!???

I can't wait to find out! Can you?!???
